About this property

Welcome to Lake Quinault Lodge

Set on the shores of Lake Quinault within Olympic National Park, this rustic 1926 lodge offers a woodsy retreat that appeals to visitors seeking natural surroundings and outdoor activities. The property combines hotel accommodations with boat rental services and guided tours, making it a convenient base for exploring nearby hiking areas, waterfalls, and the lush Quinault Rainforest. It is located just over two miles from US Highway 101, providing access to the broader region while maintaining a secluded feel.

The lodge features an indoor pool, a restaurant, bar, and seasonal boat rentals, catering to guests who value convenience and relaxed amenities. While the rooms retain historic charm, some reviews note that updates and maintenance could be improved, particularly regarding plumbing and accessibility, as there is no elevator and some bathrooms are compact. The property is family- and pet-friendly, offering free parking and smoke-free environments, but lacks air conditioning, airport shuttle, and fitness facilities.

Dining on-site is anchored by the Roosevelt Dining Room, which serves American cuisine including seafood, and receives generally favorable feedback with occasional notes on reservation policies. Guests appreciate quiet, peaceful surroundings with attentive staff, though connectivity is limited—the lodge offers paid Wi-Fi and complimentary daily sessions, but cell service is often spotty. This setting suits those looking to disconnect and embrace nature rather than those requiring extensive modern business amenities.

Nearby attractions include the picturesque Lake Quinault, Merriman Falls, and the Quinault Rainforest, all highly rated for scenic beauty and recreational opportunities. The property’s environment and location make it especially suitable for visitors seeking a calm, nature-focused getaway with historic ambiance, though travelers should be prepared for the lodge’s vintage character and occasional maintenance quirks.

This property is beautiful. If the walls could only talk! It could use a little more TLC, but visited in January where things always look a little rough! The staff was amazing and the lake showed all of its personalities (except snow!)

Lucked out the weather was balmy for early February so we could use the balcony to enjoy the incredible sunsets over the lake. Staff were busy with upkeep but we never heard them. Quiet, peaceful, and comfortable room. 2nd time staying here, will be back.

We love this place! We were very early in the season (February) so it wasn't crowded. They are renovating and making repairs. The renovations to the restaurant were well publicized, but there could have been better info shared about a water shutdown for plumbing repairs. Definitely recommend you go here to see some beautiful forest hiking, allowing you to "disconnect" and recharge. There was spotty cell coverage but the wi-fi was fine.

I’m going to say we enjoy the privately owned historic charm of this place overlooking Lake Quinault. The rooms are still the original with old plumbing, and I felt the small bathroom was in a closet since the sink was in the bedroom area. Our room was clean and comfortable with no view. Just so you know, there is no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs. We ended up having a late dinner because we didn’t know we had to make reservation at the same time as we made room reservations. You don’t need reservation for the breakfast buffet which costs $25 per person.

Even in the dead of winter with a full forecast of rain, my family had a wonderful time here recently. The staff were top-notch and did everything the could to make our stay memorable. The lakeview rooms were comfortable and enchanting. The restaurant exceeded expectations both in food and service, even when our little ones weren't in the best mood and family stress was high, the team at the lodge were fantastic. Will definitely visit again.

This is our paradise! If they would update the rooms this would be a 5-star resort! The restaurant has excellent food. The views are amazing! Don't miss Ruby Beach which is up the road. If you are a Veteran ask if they offer a discount. See you soon!

Location is beautiful. We stayed in the fireplace wing. Clean room and lovely view of the lake but lacked the charm of a vintage lodge (rooms in main lodge appear to have that historic feel from pictures we saw). No Wifi but a 90 min session is provided free of charge once a day. Cell service almost non existent. Sadly pizza (lunch option) was not offered the day after we arrived with no explanation, and our second morning the breakfast buffet was out of decaf, oatmeal, yogurt and toppings; and only apple juice and watery cranberry. While we were eating they were rolling large storage units out of the kitchen into the aisle to the buffet, which made the dining experience very unpleasant. Apparently they were starting a kitchen remodel that day but they should have waited till after breakfast, especially when we were charged $24.95 a piece. We hope that when we return in March the eating experience will be improved!

We enjoyed our weekend at the Lodge. The staff are very pleasant and eager to assist. We celebrated our 30th anniversary here this weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. We enjoyed a bicycle ride around the lake taking in the beautiful fall colors and then enjoyed a romantic dinner in the Rosevelt Dining room. After the long day and great food, we slept like babies in our comfortable room and woke up to the amazing lake view! The grounds are immaculately kept and it is nice to just walk around the property and enjoy the scenery. On day 2 we took the recommended hike on the Rainforest trail which was peaceful and scenic. The fact that the lodge was dog friendly made our weekend even better because out fur baby didnt miss out on the fun. Thank you for a spectacular weekend. We will be back in the summer.
